LUANNA SAADE
BIOLOGIST | ARCHITECTURE STUDENT

Hello.
I'm Luanna Saade, a biologist transitioning to the field of architecture with a focus on laboratory design.
Originally from Curitiba, Brazil, I moved to Dallas, TX, where I completed my Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology at Stephen F. Austin State University. Following graduation, I relocated to Durham, NC, where I worked in human vaccine research at Duke University.
During my time at Duke, I gained insights into the design challenges facing scientific spaces. I noticed that poor circulation, improper lighting, cluttering of supplies and unused equipment, constant humming sounds of instruments, lack of opportunities for collaboration with other teams, and lack of daylighting, among other aspects, are silent stressors in the daily life of a scientist. Recognizing the disconnect between scientists and architects, I decided to pursue a Master's Degree in Architecture at North Carolina State University to bridge this gap effectively.
With a background in scientific research, I bring a unique perspective to architecture. I possess a keen eye for detail and understand the practical needs of life science research environments. My goal is to translate these insights into functional and aesthetically pleasing designs that enhance productivity and well-being.
Furthermore, my fluency in three languages and multicultural background enable me to effectively communicate with Science + Technology clients both domestically and internationally.
I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my skills and expertise to the architecture industry and look forward to exploring new avenues for innovation and collaboration.
